# Private car-contact services in Australia compared

24 October 2026 · Checked 24 October 2026

[Replyte](https://replyte.com/en-au) offers private app conversations for supported plates. The current Google Play app does not support plate contact for US, Canadian or Australian plates. Choose Scan2Call when a relayed phone call matters most. Choose ContactMeTag for nominated emergency contacts, or QRCar for a browser form and owner dashboard.

Replyte publishes this comparison. The services below offer different routes from the person beside the vehicle to the person who can help.

## Compare the contact route and owner setup

| Service | How contact starts | What the owner prepares | Published offer |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Replyte | Private app messaging for supported plates; current Google Play app: no Australian plate contact | Claim a supported car; QR is optional | Start with one car on Free; available Premium options and prices appear in your platform store |
| [Scan2Call](https://scan2call.com.au/) | Scan the installed tag for relayed calls, SMS or WhatsApp | Buy and activate the tag | Vehicle-sticker service is priced by year; select an active term in the [store](https://scan2call.com.au/store), which charges in AUD |
| [ContactMeTag](https://contactmetag.com.au/products/vehicle-emergency-qr-sticker) | Scan the Vehicle Tag to reach nominated contacts | Buy and activate the vehicle sticker; add contacts | AUD8.50 sale price per tag; no subscription; online contact management included |
| [QRCar](https://qrcar.com.au/) | Scan the sticker and submit a browser form | Activate the sticker against a vehicle | Basic: one sticker, displayed $9.99 once; Starter: two stickers, $19.99 once; dashboard alerts included |

QRCar’s page does not label the dollar currency. Confirm the payment total and delivery arrangement with the seller: its order process records the request before payment confirmation and dispatch.

## Replyte: a continuing conversation about the car

For supported plates, Replyte keeps a conversation together without exchanging phone numbers. A photo can show which entrance is blocked. A voice note or location can help when typing a description is awkward.

An Australian plate address needs Australia, the issuing state or territory and the complete rego.

The [browser demo](https://replyte.com/en-au#replyte-demo) illustrates the need for an issuer using a fictional US plate. It does not send messages.

Quiet hours control ordinary notifications. Garage keeps vehicle information together. Review co-driver options for a shared car, or [ask about Fleet](mailto:mvp@replyte.com?subject=Replyte%20Fleet%20enquiry) for a shared vehicle inbox.

The sender needs the app. For supported plates, an unclaimed-plate message waits for a claim for up to 30 days, then expires. A claimed car can receive the request without that wait, but a reply is not guaranteed.

A supported, claimed car can also have a QR and printable PDF. Scanning leads to opening or installing Replyte, then continuing in the app.

## Scan2Call: choose it for a ringing call

Scan2Call describes temporary proxy numbers for calls, SMS and WhatsApp, with no app required on either side. Owners can disable tags or block unwanted contact. This is a more direct match when you want a telephone call rather than a recorded voice note in a message thread.

Its store lets you select an active term from one to five years. Displayed local-currency estimates can differ from the AUD checkout charge, so compare the selected term and final charge before buying.

## ContactMeTag: prepare nominated contacts

The Vehicle Tag lets an owner add two emergency contacts and an optional overseas contact. A scan opens the contact interface while keeping the personal numbers off the screen. The offer includes online contact management, so update those contacts when circumstances change.

Choose this route when family contact is the main goal. Call 000 for immediate danger; a tag is an additional contact tool.

## QRCar: a form and vehicle dashboard

QRCar Basic and Starter include form-based dashboard alerts and a downloadable digital QR. The public vehicle page shows a nickname rather than the owner’s phone or email. Owners can deactivate a code.

Choose it when that form-and-dashboard route is enough. Arrange the physical sticker’s payment and delivery before relying on it beside the car.
