User content & safety

Useful messages. No abuse.

re:plyte is for short, relevant communication about vehicles and roads. These rules apply whenever you send, post or upload content.

What these rules cover

User content includes messages, photos, voice notes, road broadcasts, community posts, profile names and images, and anything else you submit for another person to see or hear. The app asks you to accept the current version before publishing. Share only content you have the right to share, and keep it accurate, relevant and necessary.

Do not post or send

The following content and behaviour are prohibited, whether public or sent directly to one person:

  1. Threats, harassment, bullying, stalking, intimidation, hateful conduct or discrimination.
  2. Sexual exploitation or abuse; any sexual content involving minors; non-consensual intimate content; or graphic violence.
  3. Content that promotes or facilitates crime, dangerous acts, self-harm, or harm to people, animals or property.
  4. Personal or confidential information shared without permission, including doxxing, passwords, one-time codes, identity tokens or vehicle-claim documents.
  5. Impersonation, fraud, scams, spam, unsolicited advertising, automated bulk messages or false claims of vehicle ownership.
  6. False or misleading road updates, fabricated emergencies, or content that could distract drivers or obstruct emergency help.
  7. Malware, infringing material, or content you do not have the rights or permission to share.

Zero tolerance for CSAE and CSAM

re:plyte prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Never create, upload, send, distribute, promote, request, solicit or facilitate CSAE or CSAM. Report suspected child-safety abuse through Safety options in the app, or email [email protected] if you cannot use the app. If a child is in immediate danger, contact 112 or the relevant local emergency service first.

Report content or block its author

Report content

On a message, update, nearby broadcast, community, community post or travel group created by somebody else, open Safety options, choose Report content and select the closest reason. Reports can identify spam, harassment, threats, sexual content, impersonation, a wrong plate, suspected illegal content or another concern. If you cannot use the in-app control, email [email protected] with only the details needed to locate the issue. Never send a password, one-time code, identity token or vehicle-claim document.

Block unwanted contact

On content created by somebody else, open Safety options and choose Block author. Blocking hides that author’s content from you and prevents direct interaction in both directions; the blocked person is not notified. The block is recorded anonymously, and you can review it or lift it under Settings → Blocked plates. Blocking and reporting are separate, so report the content as well when you want moderation review.

What happens after a report

A report enters the moderation queue; it is not treated as proof by itself. We consider the reported item, selected reason, available context, severity and repeated behaviour.

  • A report may be dismissed or actioned after review.
  • Possible action includes removing content or suspending the responsible account from publishing user content.
  • Text screening uses one combined list of high-risk phrases covering all 22 app languages, so a listed phrase is blocked before publication whatever language surrounds it. That list is deliberately narrow, and no language’s list has yet been reviewed by a native speaker, so screening stops only some of the material these rules prohibit. It applies to text only: nothing classifies images or audio automatically, and photos and voice notes are checked only for file type, size and location metadata. Publishing images and voice notes publicly is currently switched off, and rate limits and file type and size restrictions also reduce misuse. These controls do not guarantee that every prohibited item is caught before it appears.
  • Every report is reviewed by a platform moderator within 24 hours of reaching the moderation queue. We may act on serious or repeated violations without waiting for another report. That commitment is to the review itself, not to its outcome.
